February 20 – 22, Mind on Fire & and icarus Quartet Present:

Wilderness Suite

In 1980, human development across 2,361,767 acres of land in Idaho was ceased, creating the largest federally protected wilderness area in the United States. Now left untouched for decades, this landscape tells a unique story of "anti-development."

WILDERNESS SUITE uses images, along with live music and pre-recorded electronics, to examine the impression of humankind on the environments it inhabits. This interdisciplinary collaboration sheds light on the stories that the place and those who still live there have to share.

February 27 – March 1, Mind on Fire Presents:

Lancelot Chimera

LANCELOT CHIMERA is an electroacoustic concerto for amplified bassoon and tape about games, the apocalypse, and transforming into something else. This is music about individuality and agency and the smell of the earth and good times.

Lorelei Ensemble Presents:

WILD

Lorelei Ensemble Presents: WILD

This nonconformist and charged program claims a limitless space for the incomparable voices of Lorelei and celebrates living composers whose music bucks convention and disregards the traditional boundaries of genre. Merging magical realism and fairytales with the provocative prose of Virginia Woolf, layering soundtracks of natural migration and city traffic, and testing the limitations of modern technology, WILD is about controlled borders and vast landscapes, freedom and constraint, clarity and distortion, and the ways we resist and embrace wildness in ourselves and in the world around us.

Andrea Conte Presents:
